Setting up BSC Wallets to receive NFTS
BSC Wallets
Congratulations to all the winners of our very first Mars Panda Airdrop! Last month was yet another exciting month as many of our participants were actively involved with our contest. Without further ado, we shall look at some of the commonly used wallets that support Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and can be used to receive NFTs. They are MetaMask, Math and TokenPocket Wallet which are available for iOS and Android mobile devices as well as Desktop/Browser Extension; Trust Wallet (iOS/Android/Google Play mobile devices only), Binance Chain Wallet (Browser Extension only) and even physical hardware wallets like Ellipal Titan and Ledger. We will now explore more on MetaMask and Trust Wallet since they allow us to view our NFTs directly in the respective wallet of our mobile devices.
MetaMask (Browser Extension)
You have to first install the MetaMask wallet Chrome extension.
Tap the icon in your browser and create a wallet, it will be a regular one on Ethereum mainnet, write down the recovery phrase.
Click on the “Ethereum Mainnet” to drop down the list of networks and choose “Custom RPC“
Enter the details for the Binance Smart Chain:
Network Name: Binance Smart Chain (You can name it whatever you want e.g. BSC)
New RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
ChainID: 56
Symbol: BNB
Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com/
You will now see and be able to select “Binance Smart Chain” from the network selection list. Be sure it’s checked on MetaMask to do transactions on the chain — platforms.
Your account or BSC is already created which you can see by tapping the circle in top right. It’s the same address as for Ethereum Mainnet which you need to provide to Mars Panda for us to transfer your NFT. However, if you wish to view your NFT directly in your wallet, you would have to use the mobile version which we will explore next. Do note that you will be able to use the same wallet account on both of your Metamask Browser Extension version and mobile version.
MetaMask (iOS/Android)
Firstly, you’ll want to head over to the MetaMask Download page. From there, select either iOS or Android, and follow the steps to install it on your device. Easy!
Next, tap on the menu button in top left as indicated above. Select Settings at the menu page and then Networks. Now, tap on the “Add Network” button in the Networks page.
Enter the details for the Binance Smart Chain:
Network Name: Binance Smart Chain (You can name it whatever you want e.g. BSC)
RPC URL: https://bsc-dataseed.binance.org/
ChainID: 56
Symbol: BNB
Block Explorer URL: https://bscscan.com/
You will now see and be able to select “Binance Smart Chain” from the network selection list. Be sure it’s checked on MetaMask to do transactions on the chain — platforms.
Your account or BSC is already created which you can see by tapping “Wallet” in the top middle. It’s the same address as for Ethereum Mainnet which you need to provide to Mars Panda for us to transfer your NFT.
Once the NFT has been transferred to you, you can tap on the NFTs tab to view your NFT.
Trust Wallet (iOS/Android/Google Play only)
Step 1 — https://trustwallet.com/ — download the Trust Wallet app into your mobile phone
Step 2 — Open the downloaded Trust Wallet app on your phone and tap on “Create a new wallet”. You may also backup your wallet too.
Step 3 — You will be given a 12 word recovery phrase which can ONLY be used to restore access to your wallet so please keep a record of this safely. You will then be required to verify the 12 word recovery phrase in the correct order.
Step 4 — In the Wallet tab in bottom left, tap on “Smart Chain” and then tap on “Receive” to get the address of your BSC wallet which we will be transferring your NFT to. Please note that you will be using the Binance Smart Chain (BSC) network (not the other BNB network).
After we have transferred you the NFT, you may tap on the ‘Collectibles’ tab to view your NFT.
